Health Service Excellence Awards

Seven projects have been selected to compete to the overall winner of the 2016 Health Service Excellence Awards. Shortlisting took place in January 2016 and the teams from the shortlisted projects were then invited to present to the selection panel to qualify for the Health Service Excellence Awards final 2016.

Havana Club Grand Prix 2016 Winner for Ireland

He currently works at 37 Dawson Street in Dublin, Meimi Sanchez- Global Brand Ambassador for Havana Club Rum & Jamie Jones- International Bar Consultant from the UK.

After a national campaign to find Ireland’s strongest mixologists with Havana Club Rum, Stephen Wynne of 37 Dawson Street won the campaign to travel to Cuba and represent Ireland at the Global Final of The Havana Club Grand Prix 2016-  one of the World’s longest running cocktail competitions and now in its 22nd year.  Stephen’s cocktail was  called the “Paraiso Perez” named after a 19th century explorer, he presented it to an audience of national bartenders at the Chelsea Drug Store last night 20th April along with 2 other finalists. The drink includes  35.5mls Havana Especial 15 mls  Apricot Brandy 10mls  a sweetened Ruby Port ( red grape infusion ) 35.5mls Apple Juice (cloudy)  15mls fresh Lime juice

Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams at the Wax Museum

National Wax Museum Plus head sculptor PJ Heraghty met with Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams at the Wax Museum to do a casting of the controversial politician’s face. Mr Adams is significant to the National Wax Museum Plus attraction as he is one of the missing pieces of the Good Friday Agreement exhibit. In order to complete this scene museum bosses have made the decision to measure up Mr. Adams for his very own wax figure

 

Thousands call for Government to invest in Ireland’s Mental Health Reform

Thousands call for Government to invest in Ireland’s mental healthMental Health Reform, the national coalition on mental health, was today (08/10/2015) joined by representatives of its 54 member organisations to deliver thousands of petition signatures to Minister of State for Primary and Social Care Kathleen Lynch TD, calling for increased investment in mental health and related social services in Budget 2016.  The petition is part of the coalition’s Invest in my mental health campaign, which saw over 6,500 people sign up and which included local visits to TD clinics across the country.
